Cheyenne, WY — Some states are stumbling around in 2021 like they didn’t learn anything from 2020, but not Wyoming. The Cowboy state is on fire with patriotic citizens who are done getting the short end of the stick from their Republican legislators — both at the federal and the state level!
While Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi have both called on Congress to pass massive federal gun control bills in the last week, some Wyoming legislators are working to expand the state’s gun rights.
One freshman Representative from Wyoming, Robert (Bob) Wharff, has filed H.B. 117, a rock ribbed bill that would repeal deadly Gun Free Zones!
Filed on February 5th, the bill already has 20 cosponsors, including: Representative(s) Andrew, Baker, Bear, Burt, Fortner, Gray, Heiner, Jennings, Laursen, Neiman, Ottman, Rodriguez-Williams, Styvar, Winter. Senator(s) Biteman, Bouchard, French, James, McKeown, Salazar!
The local media summarized what the bill would do:
House Bill 117 would allow anyone who can legally carry a concealed weapon to conceal carry at:
- Any meeting of a governmental entity
- Any meeting of the legislature or a committee thereof
The proposed legislation would also allow people to conceal carry at “any public college or university facility.” The bill would also allow conceal carry at “public college or university or professional athletic event(s).”
People would also be authorized to conceal carry at K-12 school facilities and athletic events, though school boards would still be allowed to establish gun free zones as provided under Wyoming Statute 21-3-132. Private property owners would also retain the ability to restrict firearms on their property.
Gun Free Zones are little more than ‘criminal safety zones’ that leave law abiding citizens to be fish in a barrel when a violent attacker decides to strike!
Of course, criminals ignore ‘gun free zones’ just like they ignore background checks, waiting periods, mandatory training, and every other aspect of gun control that’s intended to lower violent crime!
In fact, these attackers often choose gun free zones on purpose! The Crime Prevention Research Center even goes so far as to say that 98% of mass shootings happen in gun free zones — and they have the data to back it up!
Up and Coming
This legislation is great to see from Representative Wharff, especially since he’s only in his first year! When many other congressman get to the Capitol, they keep their heads low and try to make friends with the powerful members of the Cheyenne Swamp.
But Representative Wharff seems to be more interested in advancing gun rights, and that will make him the RIGHT kind of friends in Wyoming!
Wyoming’s Gun Rights Are Going Places
We have reported in the weeks since the Presidential election that there seems to be a powerful, pro-gun wind blowing through Wyoming — not to be confused with the wind they already have!
For starters, one Republican legislator recently filed the groundbreaking new SAPA legislation which would effectively turn the entire state of Wyoming into a Second Amendment Sanctuary by nullifying all federal gun control — past, present, and future — in the state.
This Second Amendment Preservation Act, or SAPA, legislation was filed by Senator Anthony Bouchard — the same gun rights hero who helped Wyoming pass Constitutional Carry when he worked hand in hand with the states rock-solid ‘no compromise’ gun rights organization, the Wyoming Gun Owners.
After his election in 2017, Senator Bouchard led the charge to to pass one of the nation’s best Stand Your Ground laws, passing it in the first year of his term in 2018!
In addition to SAPA legislation, Senator Bouchard has recently announced that he will primary big-time RINO Liz Cheney for the state’s single, at-large Congressional seat in 2022!
His announcement came just days after the traitor Liz Cheney voted to impeach President Trump — earning her the anger of thousands of Wyoming’s voters and official censures from several counties’ GOP leadership.

Gun owners in Wyoming are on the cutting edge of a shift that’s happening nationwide. The last 18 months have shown the cowardly underbelly of the Republican party more clearly than any other event in recent memory.
If gun owners are going to have a chance against radical Joe Biden and his federal gun control, they’re going to have to stop accepting lukewarm, half-hearted legislators who are willing to sell out their gun rights.
It looks like Wyoming is well on their way to the house-cleaning that every state needs! Some of these freshmen Republicans like Robert (Bob) Wharff of Wyoming, Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, and several more are flipping the narrative and going on the offensive.
