(Batesville, MS) – Tired of having his store broken into, this Batesville shop owner waited in his store after hours hoping to catch the thieves in the act.
Shortly after midnight, two 17-yr-olds broke into the business via a roof vent and, after being ordered to stop by the store owner, drew a gun on him.
That’s when authorities say the store owner fired his own weapon, striking the suspect who drew on him in the ear. Assistant Police Chief Kerry Pittman said that both suspects are being charged with burglary and petit larceny.
No charges are expected against the store owner.
