Seattle, WA — The city that Americans spent the summer laughing at — CHAZ/CHOP, anyone? — is doubling down on legislating leftist solutions to leftist problems.
The same city that intentionally placed concrete barriers around the tent-city to protect the criminals squatting there is now looking to give a ‘green light’ to criminals who commit misdemeanors.
Members of Seattle’s City Council are considering re-classifying misdemeanor crimes so that substance addiction, mental illness or poverty are valid, legal defenses that criminals can use to have their charges dismissed.
You read that right. If a criminal is addicted to drugs, has a mental illness, or is poor, their charges can be dismissed because those are valid reasons for committing a crime.

The Seattle City Council is considering new legislation that would create a legal loophole that would make substance addiction, mental illness or poverty a valid legal defense for nearly all misdemeanor crimes committed in the city.
The council’s consideration of the plan has occurred with virtually no public discussion about the proposal, which has been included in the municipal budgeting process. The council has not, so far, conducted a standalone meeting to discuss the idea.
Scott Lindsay, the former public safety advisor for the city, said Seattle would be in a class of its own if it ultimately enacted the ordinance.
“I’m not aware of any legislation like this anywhere in the United States (or) even globally,” he said Monday. “All cities have criminal codes to protect their citizens from criminal acts. This would essentially create a legal loophole that swallows all those codes and creates a green light for crime.”
If property values in Seattle weren’t already dropping, this would be the final straw!

Look at the efforts of the left! They are criminalizing hard working and law-abiding citizens, while giving a blank check to criminals and thieves.
They’ve created a crazy world, where what is normal and wholesome is mocked and viewed as repressive. Meanwhile, they’re celebrating child drag queens and the deaths of millions of innocent babies.
Now, in Seattle at least, they are openly admitting that they don’t care about the victims of crimes at all. Only about the perpetrators– that they not face any consequences for victimizing innocent people.

Americans have purchased just under 17 million guns this year. If Biden and Harris take the White House in the election tomorrow, you can bank on that number increasing.
After all, when crime is given a legal pass like Seattle’s city council is proposing, the citizens have to defend themselves!
