NYC, NY — Mayor Bill De Blasio’s New York City recently disbanded an anti-crime unit on June 15th. Since that time, the death toll has continued to climb.
On Saturday, a one-year-old boy was shot and killed while sitting in a stroller at a park in Brooklyn. Police said that Davell Gardner Jr. and his family were having a barbeque at a local park. It was nearing 11:30 p.m. on Sunday night at the Raymond Bush Playground on Madison Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant.\
The baby was asleep when two men ambushed the family picnic. The two thugs fired more than 20 rounds in to the crowd.
One bullet struck baby Davell in the stomach. He was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Three other adults were also hit but are expected to recover.
Meanwhile, NYPD Chief Jeffrey Maddrey commented on the death of baby Davell:
A one year old child is dead. The baby was with his family enjoying a Sunday night in the Summer when someone started shooting . Three people were injured and the baby was killed. This. Must.STOP! We as a community, we as a police department denounce this disgusting violence. pic.twitter.com/R66DVO6cTA

Meanwhile, Mayor De Blasio didn’t admit that his policies as Mayor may have led to the death of young Davell. No, he held a moment of silence for the dead baby, and then was noticeably silent about the rising murder rates in the city.
Baby Davell wasn’t the only victim of senseless violence over the weekend. There were 22 shootings involving 28 victims, including a 12-year-old boy who was shot while sitting on his own front porch.
Law Abiding Gun Owners Don’t Shoot Up Picnics
It’s the large elephant in the room: gang violence represents the vast majority of the crime in the big cities. These cities and their violent crime represent the majority of gun-involved shootings every year.
We don’t have a gun problem — because there are hundreds of millions of guns in the United States that aren’t being used to shoot anybody.
It might be the lack of community in big cities, fatherlessness, drug and alcohol addiction, poor education, you name it. We don’t pretend to have all the answers.
But it’s not guns.
And the left’s cries to defund the police are a joke. In every city where the police have been defunded or are afraid to maintain law and order — we’re looking at you, Atlanta — the crime rate has continued to rise.
Leftist Politicians Will Pin This On US!
But the anti-gun left will lump this gang violence in as ‘gun violence’ and never admit that the vast majority of guns and gun owners are not involved in any crime at all!
Don’t let them pretend that this violence is our fault. THEY demanded that NYC defund the police. THEY celebrated when De Blasio disbanded the NYPD’s Anti-Crime unit. THEY need to step up to the plate and take responsibility for the crime they’ve facilitated in their big cities.
