NYC, NY — New York City police reported that a city ambulance crew was ambushed and then robbed at gunpoint late on Monday night in Brooklyn, NY.
According to the report, the team was dispatched to the 11th floor of a building after an 11:00pm call came into 911 reporting that an elderly woman was having trouble breathing. When the team arrived, instead of finding the ailing woman, the two paramedics were allegedly robbed at gunpoint.
The suspect was described only as a “masked man” who took the crew’s supply bag. He then pointed the gun at them and ordered them to walk back downstairs to the lobby.
Police later recovered the bag — it was missing the crew’s radio and their tablet. Police say there was no patient, it was a fake call to lure them to the location. No injuries were reported, but the suspect remains on the loose.
Just Another Day In De Blasio’s NYC
New York — like every other leftist-run, gun-controlled city has had a bad year in 2020. In fact, De Blasio’s New York City is nearing a fourteen-year high number of shootings.
The first 11 months of 2020 saw a 96 percent surge in NYC shootings and there was greater than 100 percent increase November 2020 compared to November 2019.
The leftist media even admits that the policy of ‘catch and release’ isn’t working:
NYPD Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said the increase of gun violence should make New Yorkers stop and pause.
“We had nine shootings across NYC yesterday, last year that would have been a full week, we had a FedEx driver in uniform shot in Brooklyn,” Shea said. “Every metric we are seeing is disturbing.”
He said officers are making gun arrests, but days later suspects are released from custody and back on the street.
If You’re Waiting For A Change In Policy….Don’t Hold Your Breath
Of course, De Blasio made lots of excuses for these higher numbers. He pointed out Corona, schools out, the ‘social justice’ issue of the summer, and more.
But what he never accounted for was the fact that cities under Republican control — many without the radical gun control that his NYC has — didn’t see nearly as significant a spike in violence in their streets.
Gun control leads to MORE violent criminals victimizing innocent, law-abiding citizens. Because all it took was some relatively minor social unrest and the crime sky rocketed.
Imagine, for a minute, if the power had gone out. Even just for three days. Imagine if the food shortage had lasted a week or two, instead of a couple of days. Imagine if people actually had been dropping dead in the streets by the millions like the ‘experts’ predicted.
These cities would be a blood bath overnight. That’s be cause gun control leaves law-abiding people sitting ducks. The left knows, and they want it that way.
