Portland, OR — Ah, the life of the entitled elites! A Portland city councilwoman who fought to cut $18 million from the budge of the Portland Police Department called 911 over a disputed with a Lyft driver.
According to a Fox News report, the radical city council member, Jo Ann Hardesty, allegedly became “irate” with Lyft driver Richmond Frost on November 1, 2020. The point of contention? The driver refused to roll the windows up!
Children, Please….
After his passenger grew ‘irate’, the driver canceled the ride and pulled into a nearby gas station. He asked Hardesty to get out of the car and call herself another ride.
Hardesty allegedly refused to exit, then called 911.
On the phone to the dispatcher, Hardesty said, “Well, I’ve got a Lyft driver that decided he would just drop me off at a filling station. Well, I’m not getting out of the car, in the dark, at a filling station, not happening. All because I asked him to put the window up. I’m not leaving.”
Hardesty added, “I am not going to allow him to leave me on the side of the road. I paid for a ride and he says he canceled it, so I’m just going to sit here until he sends me another ride.”
How ironic! The city of peace and love and brotherhood that doesn’t need police isn’t safe after dark? How odd!
Two Can Play This Game
The driver, Mr. Frost, realized that Hardesty was going to play the victim, so he called 911 right away. He told the dispatcher, “I’ve got a customer that I canceled the ride. I’m a rideshare driver and I canceled the ride, and I’ve taken her off the freeway to this filling station so that she can order another ride.”
In another twist of irony, the policy for Lyft drivers suggests that they leave their windows down in order to mitigate the spread of Corona.
We Can Smell The Hypocrisy From Here
This city councilwoman — like so many of the elitist left — is living a life of hypocrisy and can’t even see it!
Just four months ago in June, Hardesty proposed cuts of $18 million dollars to the Portland Police Bureau budget. But the minute she faces a minor inconvenience, there should be a cop there to help!
Hardesty tweeted the following after her proposed budget cut failed, “What we have right now does not work. You cannot look me in the eye and tell me that a Bureau responding violently to protesters every night works for us.”
So this woman hates the police, and suggests replacing officers with social workers and ‘community policing.’ But when the rubber met the road, she didn’t feel safe to step out on the streets of her own city after dark.
Finally, the Lyft driver was following corporate procedures put in place to help ‘slow the spread’ of the same virus that has the left hiding in terror. This despite the ever-expanding evidence that it’s not the mega-killer the media told us it would be.
Maybe she’s not afraid of the virus anymore because the election is over?
Either way, this story is a textbook example of a leftist. Entitled, opinionated, and unable to see how ridiculous they appear to Americans with two functioning brain cells.
