CHAZ/CHOP Finally Gets The Axe After The Protestors Headed To Mayor Durkin’s Mansion –Police Clearing Area Today

Seattle, WA — Starting at 5:00 am this morning, Seattle’s Capital Hill Occupied Protest or CHOP zone is no more.  Seattle’s police entered the makeshift city and started to clear out the people squatting there.

Police reportedly told the occupants that they had 8 minutes to evacuate the area. In the process, 13 ‘residents’ refused to leave and have been arrested.

That number is likely to grow throughout the day as the clean out continues.

Police officers tore down fences, cleared trash and poked around bushes in the CHOP. Most protesters had left several hours after police began clearing the area.

At one point around 6:15 in the morning, a loud bang was heard, followed by a cloud of smoke.  But no word yet on what caused it; there wasn’t any signs of an altercation between police and the protestors.

The Timing Isn’t Accidental

This move by Seattle’s Mayor Jenny Durkin comes long after the six-block area had become a national joke.  But the laughing stopped when the shooting started.

Four people were shot in less than a week.  Two of those people later died, including a young teenage boy, only 16-years-old.

In addition to that violence, police say that there have been more shootings, robberies and violence in the area that have gone unreported because CHAZ/CHOP residents had a strict ‘no cooperation’ rule for police.

Meanwhile, Seattle’s Police Chief Carmen Best had gotten fed up with the lawlessness.  But of course, she can’t directly go against the mob or she’ll lose her job, so she ‘supports peaceful protests but “enough is enough. The CHOP has become lawless and brutal.”‘

Don’t Bite The Hand That Feeds You

Why now?  The protestors took over this section of downtown Seattle on June 8th.  Leaders all over the country have called for the uprising to be put down.  President Trump himself even threatened to get involved if Mayor Durkin or Governor Inslee didn’t clean it up.

Simply put: because the mob marched on the Mayor’s mansion.  They grew bolder and bolder — like children without boundaries –until two days ago, when they marched on Mayor Durkin’s neighborhood.

Oh!  That’s how it works!  The mob can burn, loot, destroy and take over your neighborhood and that’s all fine.  But once you come into the right elitists neighborhood, THEN it’s showtime!

Durkin’s office issued a statement after the march into her neighborhood:

“Mayor Durkan and her family are in the state program to keep their address confidential because of the death threats mostly related to her work as Seattle’s U.S. Attorney under President Obama. Instead of working to make true change, Councilmember Sawant continues to choose political stunts.  Tonight she did so without regard for the safety of the Mayor and her family. The Mayor was not even home, she was working at City Hall. Seattle can and should peacefully demonstrate but should not put families and children at risk.”

Council Member Sawant is an open socialist and happily spoke to the crowd marching on the mayor’s neighborhood.  But notice that the mayor is careful to say that the threats she’s facing are from the anti-Obama crowd — not at all the angry mob that marched on her home where her children sleep.

The Left Eats Their Own

Mayor Durkin is the latest in a long line of leftists who have been turned on by her own team for not being radical enough.

While millions of Americans thought that CHOP should have gotten the axe a long time ago, how disgusting that Durkin had to face the frothing mob before it became a problem.
