BREAKING: Canadian Mass Shooter Was Already BANNED From Owning Guns After Assault Conviction

News broke this morning that the madman denturist who went on a killing rampage in Nova Scotia, Canada on Sunday was already legally prohibited from owning a firearm.  Gabriel Wortman, 51, dressed up as a cop to avoid drawing attention during his spree.  He went on to kill 23 people at 16 different crime scenes.

As Canadian officials hint at more gun control, they aren’t mentioning that their current gun control laws already failed the Canadian public.  Gabriel Wortman already had an assault conviction from 2002 and shouldn’t have had access to a gun.

According to court records, a Canadian court convicted Wortman of assault after an incident on October 29, 2001.  Part of having his conviction ‘conditionally discharged’ was that he would report to a probation officer for nine months.  One other condition was that he was no longer allowed to own a gun.

In fact, the ruling said he was “not to own, possess or carry a weapon, ammunition, or explosive substance.”   The court papers said that Wortman must attend classes “for assessment and counseling in anger management”.

Meanwhile, before all the bodies are even recovered, Prime Minister Trudeau has promised to pass even more gun control.

At a press conference on Monday, Trudeau said, “I can say that we were on the verge of introducing legislation to ban assault-style weapons across this country.  It was interrupted when the pandemic caused parliament to be suspended, but we have every intention of moving forward on that measure, and potentially other measures, when parliament returns.”

Gun Control Cleared The Field

Noticeably absent from the discussion from Canadian officials so far is any admission that their gun control has failed.  Utterly and completely, in the most tragic way it can fail.

Normally, when gun control fails, it keeps citizens from exercising their right to bear arms. They go places without the peace of mind that they’re able to protect themselves and their families.

When it fails miserably, as in Chicago, it allows criminals and gang members to get their hands on guns and kill each other because they don’t mind breaking the law.

But when it fails tragically and completely, as it did on Sunday, both things happen at once.  The murderous criminal has a gun when he shouldn’t because he has no objection to breaking the law.  But the innocent citizen is totally defenseless as a madman takes their life or the lives of those they love.

Candian gun control is to blame for these deaths every bit as much as Gabriel Wortman.  What are the odds that a maniac with a gun could get to 16 different locations to kill people and not run into an armed American?  Slim to none unless you’re in an area with strict gun control.
