County Becomes First Second Amendment Sanctuary in Georgia

Clarkesville, Georgia — Last night the Habersham County Commission voted for a resolution that makes the county the first “Second Amendment Sanctuary County” in the State of Georgia.

With anti-gun radicals in Atlanta pushing gun control every chance they get with legislation like SB 281 (Semi-Automatic Ban), HB 435 (Red Flag Gun Confiscation), and the gun-grabbers in the federal government pushing for gun control, gun owners across the state are being moved to action to protect themselves from potential anti-gun legislation becoming law.

AccessWDUN.com reported on the passage of the resolution last night:

“’Whereas, it is the desire of the Habersham County Board of Commissioners to declare its support of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution and to the provisions of the Constitution of the State of Georgia that protect Habersham County citizens’ induvial, inalienable rights to keep and bear arms,’ the resolution reads in part.

The resolution states no agent, employee or official of the county, or any corporation providing services to the county, shall provide material support or participate in any way with the implementation of federal acts, orders, rules, laws or regulations in violation of the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution.

Additionally, the document states the Habersham County Board of Commissioners will not authorize or appropriate funds, resources, employees, agencies, contractors, buildings, detention centers or offices for the purpose of enforcing or assisting in the enforcement of any element of any acts, laws, orders, mandates, rules or regulations that infringe on the right by the people to keep and bear arms.”
