Lithia, FL — A Florida man is singing his wife’s praises after she saved him and their daughter from two armed home invaders.
The woman used her husband’s AR-15 to shoot and kill one of the gunmen.
Police reported that the two armed and masked intruders burst into the home in the 100 block of Old Welcome Road around 9:00 pm on Wednesday evening last week.
They weren’t sneaking in, either, but burst in the door.
Immediately one of the two men pistol whipped the homeowner, Jeremy King.
The other man grabbed King’s 11-year-old daughter.
King told reporters:
“They came in heavily hooded and masked. As soon as they had got the back door opened, they had a pistol on me and was grabbing my 11-year-old daughter.”
After watching her husband get pistol whipped, King’s eight-month-pregnant wife ran back to their bedroom.
She wasn’t there to hide and hope for the best, or even call the police.
No, this Mama grabbed her husband’s AR-15 and took a tactical position against them,
“When he came toward the back door in her line of sight, she clipped him,” King told the outlet. “He made it from my back door to roughly 200 feet out in the front ditch before the AR did its thing.”
The intruder’s body was found in ditch outside in the front yard.
The second intruder is still on the run, and police have mounted a search for him.
Lessons Learned
King was notably proud of his wife-and his AR-15. \
He said, “Them guys came in with two normal pistols and my AR stopped it. [My wife] evened the playing field and kept them from killing me,” King said.
King suffered serious wounds from his beating at the hands of the intruders.
He reported that he has a fractured eye socket, a fractured sinus cavity and a concussion, and needed “20 stitches and three staples in my head.”
Any woman who is eight months pregnant would like a massage and maybe some chocolate.
But this lady deserves those and a medal!
