Dallas, TX—A 49-year-old man, Glen Richter, was arrested early Thursday morning for the murder of 22-year-old Sara Hudson.
Hudson’s body was found on Monday, August 19th in the back of her own burning SUV.
The Fire Department received reports around 7:30 pm of a burning vehicle in the 5600 block of Alta Drive in the Lower Greenville area of Dallas.
Upon extinguishing the flames, the firefighters discovered Sara’s body in the back of her SUV.
Glen Richter, 49, was seen on the security footage of a local business approaching Sara Hudson at random when she got out of her white Chevy Tahoe.
He approached her with a gun drawn and forced her to go to an ATM and withdraw cash.
He then forced her to drive away with him.

The two were missing for nearly two hours before the burning vehicle was reported by locals.
A local business camera again captured footage, this time of Sara exiting the vehicle, but Richter again forced her to get into the vehicle, this time into the hatchback.
Police have not released any more details about her cause of death or any other possible injuries she might have sustained before her murder.
They have reported that her body was found partially clothed.
These grisly stories are always hard to hear, but the details of her disappearance are especially heartbreaking to her family.
The told reporters that Monday– the day of her murder–was Sara’s 22nd Birthday.
She was on her way home from her new job to a birthday party with family and friends when she was carjacked, robbed, murdered and her body left to burn in her car.
When she ran late to her own party, her family and friends called her cellphone repeatedly. They eventually pinged it, only to discover that it was surrounded by police and firefighters.
Meanwhile, a witness was able to give a description of the man that matched security footage taken from the business near the carjacking.

The security footage showed the suspect touching the vehicle, and police were able to recover fingerprints and identify their suspect.
The fingerprints matched a man who resembled both the witness’s description and the security footage.
Police went to arrest him in the early hours on Thursday, August 22nd. The suspect attempted to run out the back door but was caught nearly immediately.
He is being held on a capital murder charge and a one million dollar bond.
New reports say that Sara had graduated from the University of Arkansas in May and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Unfortunately, Sara Hudson didn’t have a gun when this man snapped and decided to do unspeakable things to an innocent stranger.
The police caught the suspect in record time, but they can’t be everywhere, and they couldn’t be there for Sara Hudson when the deranged man decided that her life was cheap and worthless.
Our lives are not worthless and nor are the lives of our families, coworkers, or the other innocent people around us.
We’re sorry for Sara Hudson’s family, and hope that justice gives them some closure.
That said, this is a cautionary tale to the rest of us. Carry your gun on average workday Wednesdays on your drive home. Carry every day, carry everywhere you can. And train the women in your life to do the same.
