San Antonio Man Who Called Cops After Home Burglary EIGHT Times THIS YEAR Shoots Attempted Burglar

SAN ANTONIO — An unidentified homeowner in San Antonio shot and injured a 19-year-old man who was breaking into his house on Wednesday, July 31st.

Police said the call came late in the evening from a home along Five Palms Drive, near Old Pearsall Road.

Police investigators said that the homeowner was asleep when he heard the noise of a prybar.

“While he was sleeping, he heard someone prying on some plywood that was covering up a hole in the house,” said a San Antonio police officer. “Right now, we’re investigating an attempted burglary.”

The homeowner reported that he shouted a verbal warning, but the intruder didn’t leave.

He then pulled out his gun and shot the intruder one time.

The intruder was taken to the hospital, where he is expected to recover.

Police have said that the homeowner will not be charged.   They also reported the homeowner has had several burglaries in recent weeks.

San Antonio Police Department records show that the man has called the police EIGHT times already this year for burglaries in his home.

A neighbor woman who witnessed the events didn’t want to be identified “because of possible retaliation” but told reporters, “That’s the only way they’re going to keep them out.  Like that. I hate to say it. That’s what they’re going to get.”

Hopefully this homeowner can sleep peacefully for a while, and all the local criminals will think twice before choosing to target his house.
