Thug Threatens to Burn Down House . . . Homeowner Shoots, Kills Intruder

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FL — A thug broke into a home at 1:00 am on Tuesday morning but was shot and killed by the homeowner before he could do serious harm.

The Escambia County Police department received a call from the homeowner who lives on Lawton Street off Olive Road in Ferry Pass.

The homeowner didn’t want to be identified, but he showed reporters a shattered window that he says is how the intruder made entry.

“He left through my front door and came through the bedroom window, knocked everything around and slapped me, woke me up. He said something about setting something on fire then left out the front door.”

“A few minutes later I heard him come back through so I went to the window and grabbed my pistol and that was over with,” the homeowner described.

The homeowner said that he intended to fire a warning shot, and not to kill the intruder, but that he feared for his life.

He also reported that the intruder had broken into his house before and been arrested for it.

Because the intruder’s information hasn’t been released yet, that hasn’t been confirmed by the sheriff’s office.

The intruder later died at the hospital, and the homeowner said he feels confident he did what he had to in self-defense.

“You’re scared for your life you do what you got to do,” he said.

The investigation is ongoing.

When a thug breaks into your house at 1:00 am and says he’s going to set it on fire, you’ve only got time to make one choice:  fight or run.

This homeowner chose to fight, and the intruder paid for his own bad choices with his life.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes, but these thugs and criminals never learn.
