Must Watch: 85-Year-Old Great-Grandpa Fights Off Armed Thugs

Sometimes “Old Man Strength” is just too much for young thugs thinking they can take advantage of an older man.

That’s what happened across the pond in Glanmire, Ireland, of all places a few days ago.

Bar One Racing store manager, Tim Muprhy, who is an 85-year-old great-granpa, was minding his own business when three thugs came into his store demanding money.

Murphy moved quickly to fight back against two hammer-wielding thugs, fought them off, then picked up a chair and went after the other thug, who carried a shotgun.  All three fled the scene and are still on the loose.

But Tim Murphy is now an internet sensation.  His bare knuckled war with these three thugs is the stuff of legend.

Something that will be talked about for years to come.

Here’s the video:

Here’s the report from KCAL9.com:

A fearless 85-year-old great-grandfather is being hailed as a hero and an internet sensation after surveillance footage of him scaring three weapon-wielding robbers from a betting shop in Ireland went viral over the weekend, the BBC reports.

Video showed Denis O’Connor sitting at Bar One Racing in Glanmire, County Cork, on Saturday evening when the masked would-be thieves burst into the venue. Two of the men rushed the counter and demanded money, threatening the store manager Tim Murphy, while the other pointed his shotgun at O’Connor.

Moments after, he jumped into action and wrestled with one of the men who was waving a hammer, eventually forcing him to flee.

And once O’Connor grabbed a stool, he scared off a second man who was carrying the shotgun.

Meanwhile, Murphy tackled the remaining robber, who then decided to retreat –– but not without O’Connor landing a final kick.
