(Elmwood Park) – Police in this Chicago suburb still do not know why 43-year-old Ronald Morales pulled his firearm in a threatening manner on two innocent people in this gas station parking lot.

But recently released surveillance footage makes it clear that when the would-be victim returned fire, he was justified in doing so.

Police say the shooting occurred at 4:52 PM on April 8, 2017 when Morales approached a vehicle at the gas pump, after making eye contact with the vehicle’s owner. That’s when Morales produced a firearm from his waistband and aimed it at the occupants of the car.
