(America) — Expecting gun sales to plummet after President Obama left office?

Don’t hold your breath!

The highly anticipated ‘Trump Slump’ when it comes to firearms sales has simply not materialized. If anything, 2017 may prove to be one of the busiest years ever when it comes to firearms transactions!

According to the FBI, who administers the NICS system, a whopping 20,266,289 NICS checks have been run so far in 2017.

While 2016 is the current record holder at 27,538,673, there is still plenty of time for 2017 to close the gap as, traditionally, November and December are some of the hottest months for gun sales.

Either way, 2017 will go down as one of the hottest years in recent memory for firearms sales.

These numbers are being confirmed from a variety of different places, too.

A poll recently commissioned from NBC News shows that the number of homes that have a firearm in it has jumped from 41% in 2015 to 48% in September of 2017.

Some in the gun rights community question the accuracy of polls as it relates to firearms ownership, as gun owners are notoriously wary about answering that question.

So if anything, the number of homes that possess at least one firearm is likely higher.

One thing is certain, regardless of who sits in the White House, American’s love of the Second Amendment isn’t going away any time soon!
