Jewelry Store Owner Kills 1 Robber, Injures Another

(Harris County, Texas) – The owner of a jewelry store in Harris Co. Texas is being lauded for his bravery during a recent armed robbery attempt at his store.

The 66-yr-old owner of Your Jeweler’s, located in the 12100 block of Jones Rd, said that three armed suspects burst into his store demanding money and jewelry and began to savagely beat him during the altercation.

The shop keeper was able to get to a hidden handgun and opened up a barrage of fire on the criminals, sending them all fleeing. Shortly thereafter one suspect was dropped off at a local hospital with three gunshot wounds, while the second suspect was found dead in the street from gunshot wounds.

The third suspect fled, but was arrested in San Antonio by members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. That suspect, Cortez Harris, is facing charges of aggravated robbery and is being held on a $250,000 bond.

No charges are expected to be filed against the store owner.
