Oklahoma Home Invasion Suspect Lucky to Be Alive

(Grady County, OK) – When 28-year-old Travis Thrash kicked in the front door of a residence in rural Grady County, he had no way of knowing that the homeowner was a military veteran who was willing to defend his family.

According to the Grady County Sheriff, Jim Weir, Thrash is lucky to be alive after forcing his way into the home and making it all the way down the hall to the bedroom.

That’s when the homeowner pulled his firearm and ordered the suspect to the ground while waiting for the authorities.

Investigators reported that the suspect admitted to being under the influence of drugs. Nearby neighbors reported that the suspect had tried to break into their home moments earlier.

Charges are pending against Thrash, but no charges are expected against the homeowner, as Oklahoma is both a Castle Doctrine and Stand–Your–Ground law state.
