North Carolina Woman Shoots, Kills, Suspect Trying to Peddle Stolen Guns

(Lincolnton) – Police in this North Carolina town are reporting a shooting that occurred in a local home after an argument broke out between the homeowner and suspects in a recent firearms heist.

According to the authorities, two men entered this home trying to sell firearms stolen from Gastonia. Hearing a commotion in the home, a woman emerged from a rear bedroom and opened fire on the suspects in self-defense.

Detectives say that 51-year-old Marion Yarborough was found dead in the front yard upon their arrival.

At the moment, authorities are referring to the shooting as a self-defense situation and say no charges are expected. North Carolina has a “Castle Doctrine” law as well as “Stand-Your-Ground” Law.
