Uber Driver Kidnapped at Gunpoint, Shoots Suspects in Self-Defense

(New Orleans, LA) – When this NOLA Uber driver dropped off a passenger just after 1:00am Monday morning, he was immediately approached by two men with guns who got into his car.

Complying with the two, the driver took them to the intersection of Bienville and Telemachus streets before being told to exit the vehicle by the two.

Upon doing so, the driver immediately pulled his own pistol and shot at the two.

Police believe that one of the men was hit by gunfire and said both fled the scene.

No official response has been issued from Uber, whose official policy bans both passengers and drivers from carrying guns while in operation.
