TRAITOR: Georgia Republican Bill Heath Votes for GUN CONTROL (SB 150)

Atlanta, Georgia — This morning, Republican Senator Bill Heath joined 6 other Republicans in voting in favor of SB 150, the Georgia Lautenberg Domestic Gun Ban, which expands greatly the federal Lautenberg Domestic Gun Ban that was passed in the late 90s.

This was Michael Bloomberg’s #1 offensive issue when his lobbyists came to the Capitol two weeks ago.

Many believe the Lautenberg Gun Ban is responsible for disarming more Americans than any other single piece of legislation in American history.

The Georgia version of this bill is a duplication of the federal bill, but goes even further, denying due process when confiscating firearms, as well as expands greatly the definition of “domestic partner” in a domestic dispute.

Domestic situations often are “he said, she said” and in many cases, very difficult to determine what actually happened.

This is how Gun Owners of America described Lautenberg:

With the Lautenberg gun ban in place, a new category of “victim” is emerging as a result of these tougher state laws – like the one in Virginia.

“A lot of times, I think arrests are being made when they shouldn’t be,” says Kenneth E. Noyes, staff attorney and coordinator of the domestic violence project for Legal Services of Northern Virginia.

He is not alone in this opinion.

“I am stunned, quite frankly, because that was not the intention of the law,” says Judith Mueller of the Virginia-based Women’s Center.

“It’s disheartening to think that it could be used punitively and frivolously. Frivolously being the operative word.”
