Two Suspects Arrested, One Shot, in Failed Carjacking Attempt

(Chicago, Il) – Police on the Southwest side of Chicago are reporting an attempted armed robbery in the 5300 block of S. Pulaski St. last Wednesday.

According to the investigators, 25-year-old Guillermo Parada and 22-year-old John Zuniga approached a man at this address demanding the keys to his car, while displaying a handgun.

The would-be victim, who possesses a concealed carry license, pulled out his own handgun and fired at the suspects — striking one of them in the groin. While both suspects fled, they were taken into custody soon thereafter and are being held in the Cook County Jail pending a May 17 court date.

No charges are expected to be filed against the victim in this case.
